    Hi,
I still cannot join in on this thread, as I have not finished paying for my Scottish holiday later this year.

Last time I went to Scotland it seemed to be being run by Australians.

I assumed Earls Court has been relocated to balance out the economic wealth generated by Student Gap Years.

There will be a good test of opinion in May as there is the Scottish local elections and Cameron (aye a good Scottish name) is doing his best for the SNP.

on a visit to london this weekend i seemed to give a lot of small change to homeless scots
would they have to be re patriated under scottish indepence i wondered ?
if so how would they fare on the streets of edinburgh or glasgow begging in front of their notoriously mean fellow countrymen ?
they wont get by as well as they do in london thats for sure

alex salmond needs to think about these issues
does he want to preside over an even bigger early mortality age ?

    That really is quite offensive.

Do you also believe all Irish people are "thick", the Welsh are depressive, all Englishmen are gay?

Such a statement is nothing short of xenophobic racism.
Economically, the Scottish people have limited time to separate from the English economy which is underpinned by that clearing house for global financial fraud known as the City of London. The banking merchants have dismantled English industry and replaced it with a scam. Scottish oil and the work ethic north of the border is a safer bet and independence will free Scotland for growth and prosperity.

I have never heard of the stereotype about the Welsh being 'depressed'. Hearing a new stereotype for the first time makes the absurdity of stereotypes especially evident.

Yes, I heard it on an episode of All in the Family. All those Normal Lear sitcoms were supposed to preach against bigotry, but they made reference to all sorts of things I had never heard before in their zeal.

As for 'thick mick' - when I was about 7, a very elderly aunt of Irish descent referred to a very elderly male relative, also of Irish descent, in such a manner after an argument - which she lost. So I had heard that one too.

They're only depressed when they have to put up with bigots and people with stereotypical views of other people

In the Merseyside area we're always being stereotyped as petty criminals, ' I love Liverpool, I go there every week to visit my hubcaps', Bernard Manning.

Well, even within Scotland, there are different degrees of perceived meanness, Aberdeen faring the worst. Empty streets are often referred to as "Union Street on flag day".

I would have thought the generosity of the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Bank of Scotland would have put paid to that cliche.

They gave all their money away.......
and all belonging to the Bank of Westminster too......

Which reminds me of Monty Python's "fat greasy Belgian bastards!"
