    This is a new Biography on Lionel Bart by David and Caroline Stafford. Haven't started it yet, but I'm sure it will be interesting. A great, but deeply flawed talent.

    It was the 'Book of the Week' on BBC Radio 4 a few weeks ago. I found it very interesting.

    I finally got round to finishing this.

    Unfortunately it's really a cuttings job, very disappointing indeed. There is no detail how Lionel Bart got himself into bankruptcy, apart from putting some of his own money into Twang, who bought the rights to Oliver and how they did it etc? There is also a huge chunk of his life missing and I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

    Sorry to be so negative but it is a very poor effort about a great subject, someone who many people are very interested in.
