The BFI are organising a retrospective of the work of Alfred Hitchcock, with some silents getting new live scores.

I've booked for all the silents announced so far - looking forward especially to Blackmail at the British Museum (but enough of my private life...)

I'm going to The Pleasure Garden at Wilton's Musical Hall. Waiting for the rest to be announced (if the restorations get funded and finished in time ...!).

They've announced so they're nearly half-way through the silents... I do like the way they're unveiling them one at a time at different locations. I just hope they don't vanish again once they've been shown (as does sometimes happen with BFI restorations )

    Oh no!
    not Hitchcock again?

I wonder when the BFI are going to be daring enough to open up some really dusty, rusty film cans on that hard to reach shelf?

Here's a link to a BBC News item on the soundtrack for The Ring that's been composed by Soweto Kinch.

How many murders are there in Hitchcock films?

Well, a lot more than the BFI think given they've only counted one in The Lady Vanishes Interesting site with more to be added

Agree, Arfur. Bit of a lack of imagination on the BFI's part
