    Hi -

I'm looking for a copy of the Nicol Williamson film THE RECKONING (1969). Can anyone help?

It's surprising after NW's recent death that more of his titles have not been released or rereleased on DVD. The DVD Reckoning mentioned earlier from Amazon is American and other titles such as Jack Gold's excellent Bofers Gun (1968) simply don't seem to be available anywhere for UK viewing, unless like myself you have a copy of the latter from another source (In my case American telly onto DVD).

The Reckoning release on Amazon is a Sony Screen Classics on Demand release and very nice it is too [if a tad expensive]

I'm waiting for my first Sony Screen Classics DVD-R to arrive (not of this film) to see if all is well before I order more. I do have an off-air of The Reckoning which is in OK condition and I believe that The Bofurs Gun is due for release in the not so distant future. I hope that other films featuring Nicol become available (Inadmissible Evidence, The Jerusalem File, Laughter in the Dark, The Hour of the Pig just for starters!).

Laughter in the Dark is super obscure for saying it's made by a well known director...

Oh I know why it's obscure. But by all accounts it is his best film.
