I know who Patricia Hayes is, but not the other one...........

I remember being surprised to find out that Jeanette Scott was the daughter of Thora Hird.

Richard was the young "romantic lead" in Carry On Loving and At Your Convenience... A pale version of Jim Dale.

    Indeed!

I was surprised to find out (a long time ago) that Rupert Penry-Jones is Angela Thorne's son.

.....after which I was suprised to find out that RPJ is hooked up with Dervla Kirwin.

I just wanted to emphasise the "pale version" - I thought he was very weak in those films.

If he's paler than Jim Dale he must be bloody invisible, so no wonder nobody has seen or heard of him.... almost.....

I never knew Rosamund John married John Silkin, the Labour Chief Whip of the 1970's, until yesterday...

For some reason I keep thinking of John Stride... Posh lawyers I suppose...

Oooh, not a JD fan then? I thought he was quite good in Carry on Cowboy?

So it is. But even I don't know every British film and every person involved in the making of them. Not quite

Richard O'Callaghan was in an episode of 'Out of the Unknown': I've also seen him on the stage. I did know he was Patricia Hayes' son.

Everyone knows that Ben Fogle is the son of Julia Foster, right?

Like the films themselves were so strong? Carry on Loving was abysmal, Convenience just on the pathetic side. No scrap that, it was just pathetic.

I love Richard O'Callaghan's silver foil aeroplanes And Sid and Hattie's 'computer'

At Your Convenience is a right-wing load of old tosh though.

Yes, but speak of Julia in hushed tones - she was my fantasy babe in the 60s

It's not about toilets - it's about industrial relations, and it is distinctly anti-union.

And wretchedly unfunny, up there with England and Emmanuelle vying for the worst of the series.
