I'm currently watching Melissa, the 70's version and must be honest i'm massively enjoying it, I thought i'd give it a go having been so hugely disappointed with the 90's version with Julie Walters, but this one is pretty damm good. Peter Barkworth is such a good actor, even Ronal Fraser is enjoyable, and i'm not really his biggest fan. Anyone got any tips on other such suspense mysteries from the 70's or 80's, I have Murder most English next :-)

I have both Melissa and Murder Most English on the pending pile so must have a look at one or the other. I'd forgotten about the Julie Walters version. It can't have been that interesting.

I'm also a great fan of the late Peter Barkworth. I hired the DVD of Melissa a few months back and it was faulty - guess when it stopped playing? yes right before the end!
Anyway I've now got a replacement so please don't reveal the denouement!
PS I'd be interested if there are any other Francis Durbridge serials available?
