I'm surprised i could find no mention of this film on here. Went to see it last night, it was quite a nice, enjoyable film. Emily Blunt seems to be highly sought after of late, such a pretty girl.
Kristin Scott Thomas seems to steal all the funny lines in it, Ewan McGregor is as always pretty good, but for me it was stolen by Egyptian actor Amr Waked, which for some reason i just couldn't help but watch in admiration of him., very good actor.
7/10

Yes I was looking forward to this too however it played about one week at my local cinemaOh well I dare say the DVD will be out in the blink of an eye.
I saw it a couple of weeks ago.A sort of attempt at Ealing Comedy which doesnt quite work.
Yemen's tourist board has been forced to issue a warning against coming to the country to fish for salmon.
A Yemen Tourism Promotion Board spokesman said it had been "inundated" with requests for information about fishing trips to the country after the success of the film, which is based on a novel. He admitted: "One negative is that salmon fishing isn't that popular in Yemen." But he insisted that there were "excellent sea-fishing opportunities".
Disputing general warnings against visiting Yemen, he added: "Some places are very hospitable but I wouldn't advise people to go to certain places."
Watched this last night and was pleasantly surprised. It's the closest thing I've seen to a new Ealing comedy in years. Although I'm not a big fan of Ewan McGregor ( there's something weak about him), I thought the role could have been played or created for a young Alec Guinness, at least in the first 1/4 of the movie.
Kirstin Scott Thomas was pretty good in a supporting role, although not a patch on the roles she's had in some French language films recently ( Sarah's key & I've loved you so long), but it's a British comedy role she's playing and not really comparable.
It's a bit silly in places and the characters and plot are a bit flimsy and transparent ( especially Tom Mison as Capt Robert Mayers) but it's decent enough little movie in a quaint, light-hearted kind of way.
The first third was stronger than the rest of the movie but it was entertaining enough. I'd say a 6.5 out of 10
