I was watching this blue ray dvd copy last night. I think the producer made a mistake. On the Titanic life boats it was written, S.S.Titanic. I would think the life boats would have R.M.S.Titanic on them, not S.S. Titanic. Am I right ?

Is this the Julian Fellowes series? There's a thread about it somewhere... I'm sure there'll be a Titanic expert along soon but meanwhile, some food for thought

RMS stands for "Royal Mail Service" - correct?
Perhaps the life boats were transferable from ship to ship, so they wouldn't have that designation - just the standard SS.

From a recreated lifeboat in the "Titanic Belfast" exhibition - shows the lifeboat livery as "SS Titanic".

When she was built she was S.S Titanic. When she was given the commission to carry the Royal Mail she became R.M.S Titanic (Royal Mail Ship). But the commission or contract to carry the mail can be taken away, it's not a permanent designation. Maybe they thought it wasn't worth repainting all of the lifeboats

How do they find enough stories to make it into a mini-series? Is it one episode for everyone on board?

Well it only gets 5.7/10 on the IMDb. It's written by Julian Fellowes so it's probably all about snobbery and class differences

It was pretty pants. It was also very badly constructed and I'm not just talking about the CGI......

Yes, I like it. Interesting story - despite the Downton snobbery aspects. Good music. Apparently nobody knew that Angel Coulby (Gwen in "Merlin") could sing like that - not even her

It'll get even more interesting with the approach of WWII in forthcoming episodes
