    Mr Sloan,
    What a miserable response!
A fabulous winning act, two likeable and engaging personalities and obviously the result of a huge amount of hard work.
I hope a dog bites you in the arse!

Any dog can learn this type of trick, hundreds do the obstacle courses for the Kennel Club events. Is this really the best the series could find? It's on a par with that chap on Opportunity Knocks who moved his muscles around to music.

I only watched a few of the audition programmes but I did see this act in one of them. I'm very pleased that they went on to win, the act is very entertaining, lots of charm, talent and exuberance. Very well done Ashleigh and Pudsey who has equally huge measures of talent and charm.

This is what happens when you let ordinary people vote for the winner....
    Every dog has its day...........

I hope the girl takes good care of her wonga and doesn't waste it all on some pet vanity project.

    Hello Mrs Grumpy,
"This type of trick"? There were lots of different tricks, and 3 completely separate and different routines. They were doing things a LOT more advanced than a mere obstacle course.

Yes, any dog can "learn this type of trick" - if you already have a great working relationship with the dog and and prepared to put the hours of training in. 24 hours a day for 7 days a week for a few years should be enough

Is this the same dog that Cowell had, allegedly, already decided was going to be the winner?

I could never watch a 'talent' show where the panel has less combined talent than the worst act on the programme - and that just about sums up BGT for me, I'm afraid.

Who alleged that? Good job it wasn't his decision as to who won

That applies to most of the talent shows - including the ones that have given us Victoria Wood, Patti Boulaye, Marti Caine, Lenny Henry and many others. It isn't always the winners who finish up being the most famous. But what a shame that you dismiss a whole genre for such a spurious reason. The panel are often specifically shown so that the public disagrees with them

Many acts are grateful to shows like this for giving them their big break. But that doesn't mean that everyone who enters a show like this will become as famous - far from it. It's just one possible route to fame

Hello Mrs Perfectly Correct (take no notice of Steve),

You are spot on - especially with the muscleman analogy.

Why on earth do people (apart, perhaps, from the friends & relatives of the contestants) watch this tripe?

    Seriously?

If you all stopped viewing they'd have to pull the plug and serve up something else (the evil empire of Cowell might begin to crumble too, that would be a bonus!). Although on reflection I'd endure this every night rather than Strictly Come Dancing.

Saturday night is easily the worst night of the week for telly. But people these days don't have the excuse of just three channels and nowt else on. When do you all watch your DVDs? Saturday night is ideal for that purpose.

Haven't watched BGT but what a brilliant idea, find a partner who is the main selling point of the act, who works the hardest and most of all won't want a share of the half a million pounds. I can't see the pooch calling on the legal partners of Flearidden and Fetchit to fight its case.

Which I'd have thought of that.

So cynical, at such a young age
Some people, millions of people it would seem, like to watch skill and talent however it materialises

So gullible, at such an advanced age

Millions of people like to watch and appreciate skill and talent displayed on the football pitch. I respect you're not one of them.

Your "Football" = my "BGT" = puzzlingly overrated rubbish.

Ashleigh and Pudsy are wonderful. Their act was probably the most entertaining, but it terms of talent I don't think they should have won over Jonathan & Charlotte.
