I am sure there are many examples to fill this thread - I hope so anyway - of when you get a star vehicle of film and television,where there is an emphasis on the main actor/actress,but a total unknown,or lesser known steals the entire show from underneath the star's nose!

I was reading someplace recently that Judy Dench got a Hoscar for a part where she was on-screen for only about three minutes.
Orson Welles in The Third man I suppose.
Michael Caine's part in Zulu! was only viewed as a minor role originally I believe.

Just watched last night The V.I.P.s,and Margaret Rutherford as the Duchess of Brighton is a candidate for best scene-stealer?(Movie-stealer!) ever.So much so,that she won the oscar for the role in 1963.
