Hi All. Haven't been here for a while, hope you're all well.

I know Branagh's Wallander is filmed outside the UK but it is a mostly British production with mostly British cast and crew, so below is a link to my website on the subject.

I recently was lucky enough to visit Ystad to soak up the atmosphere and take lots of pics so please visit www.branaghswallander.com to see for yourself.

Please leave feedback here if you feel the inclination. I value your comments.

    Take care All. Regards, Ian.

P.S. If there are any Ystad locals reading this then please feel free to identify the 'Unknown Locations'. Ta!

I have never seen a detective show that is as grey, depressing, and chock-a-block with ugly slum dwellings as this series. Melancholia drenches every scene and word of dialog.

The Killing, US version gets close to it and the sad thing is it is filmed in Seattle which is a lovely area. It's the flat colour tones which depress me, it's in the interiors, on the roads and cars, the woodland seems to have been leaked of all its shades of green and even the clothes they wear are drab. I'm not saying they should be dressed in Laura Ashley or Boden but a bit of colour now and then wouldn't go amiss.
