A couple of images from The Avengers episode False Witness, featuring Steed's vintage Rolls Royce and Mother's mobile headquarters a London Tranport Leyland Titan. Can anyone identify the actual filming locations?

Yes, Tony pointed out that it was not in the index, but it was in the listings.

I didn't recognise the road, although a quick look on Streeview confirms the house. Not that I doubted you.

Am I right to assume that the bus is also on Green Street during the scenes set on the upper deck?

So many thanks for that... Do you think that the other location could be in the same area?

Not sure about the upper deck scenes Mike, I'd have to have a look at the sequence again. The other one could be the top end of Green Street near the junction with Woodhall Lane but I can't see the house to the left of your screen grab on an initial look. Silver Hill might be another possibility.

The second picture looks like it could be the old ITC favourite, Warren Lane, Stanmore.

Unable to find a match on either Green Street or Silver Hill.

Warren Lane is more wooded and does not have that open area.

There's a cricket pitch on Warren Lane towards The Common end - which could be where the house is located that's visible in the screen grab. There's also an entrance to a car park opposite the cricket ground which could be where the shot was taken from.

Had another look at Warren Lane, but unfortunately I cannot see a building in the background.

Having just watched the episode - this could be the same bit of woodland we see in All Done with Mirrors - rows of birch trees!

I also have to say that the Warren Lane, Stanmore looks like a very good candidate - quite a few houses on The Common could be the one we see. There is also a road leading from the Warren Lane car park north which could well be the road seen in All Done With Mirrors!

Having watched the bus sequences over again, I can't place these locations:

It's three separate, west to east, passes of Bell Lane, London Colney.
The red and green bus stop (routes 338 & 713) narrows the search, the overhead power lines narrow it still further and the combination of electricity sub-station and bus stop confirms it.






The orange trailer at the side of the road, in the fourth picture, is passed three times, although you have to look very carefully to spot the third pass.

Thanks Alan,

I thought a fresh pair of eyes would spot this.

I'd spent an evening following all the pylons on the map from Watford through to Radlett and Shenley - I hadn't noticed these yet. All I can say is, what the freaking hell did they go up there for after spending all that time driving up and down Hartforde Road (with a sort bit on Cowley Hill).

That is impreesive Alan. You can never apply logic to location spotting, I would have throught that they would have stayed in the same area with the bus.

Wrong again - the birch trees have just shown up in the episode Take-Over, filmed on the Aldenham estate.
