Stanley Escane

I often wonder what happened to Stanley Escane after a great start in Hue and Cry, Boys in Brown and Cosh Boy, I am very surprised he never took his career much further. Any ideas?

I interviewed him in 1994. He was living in a flat in North London. He had appeared in his last film Genevieve (1953) in an uncredited part as the newsreel film cameraman. He then become a London taxi driver. When I interviewed him he was not very well and his wife (who did not seem to welcome the interview) did not thing his film career was of interest. I suspect that he has died since.

You are correct, he died in October 1996, in Barnet, Herts. aged 69.
