French character actor and director GĂ©rard Oury died on July 21st.
He came to Britain in the 1950s appearing in Sea Devils (1953) as Napolean, The Heart of the Matter (1953), They Who Dare (1954), Father Brown (1954) and the recently discussed House of Secrets (1956).
