What's the best film titles members have come across? The Ship that Died of Shame always struck me as a good un. No Trees in the Street and Hell is a City would draw in the punters, while Fire Maidens from Outer Space takes some beating. From the US, the 1937 classic How to Undress in Front of Your Husband announces itself unashamedly. In the "literary" world I've always thought that Hank Janson's Skirts Bring Me Sorry was a terrific title.

Deep profound and probably meaningless titles do it for me every time. Dust Be My Destiny & Let No Man Write My Epitaph, both American titles, spring to mind. Mine Own Executioner is a good Brit title.

Supposedly a dire film, pity because the title is great - Fun at St Fanny's.

Finally! Someone had to mention them - glad you did. And yes, it is a truly marvellous selection! And it's almost impossible to top them.

A few more titles (though "nothing compares 2u", in Prince's immortal words)

    Hedwig and the Angry Inch

    Killer Klowns From Outer Space

and of course Bubba Ho-Tep and Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires

What about The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum at Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade?

That's the full title of the 1967 film starring Patrick Magee and Ian Richardson with Glenda Jackson and various other notables

It might have been more successful if they could have got the title to fit on the billboards

In a similar vein to School for Randle, another Lancashire comedian hit the cinemas with He Snoops to Conquer.
