Being at school when this film came out this was an iconic image of the time:
Some of these went on to be household names, but not all. I recognise
Phil Daniels
Lesley Ash
Mark Wingett
Phil Davis
Toyah 'Nimby' Wilcox
And of course uber-pain-in-the-backside Sting
Others like seemed to have dropped off the map
Gary Shail and the two others seemed to disappeared completely (who I don't know the name of).
So anyone know what these three are doing now?

A film I have somehow never got around to seeing
Funny you ask....
I saw Phil Davis doing some shopping and minding his own business the other week.....
I think he still does the odd film here and there. Face with Robert Carlisle was great.
The bellboy went on to being a musician of somesorts
I just went downstairs to the dining room wall where I thought I had a framed Quadrophenia poster... to then realise months back I swapped it with Blow Up - and Quadrophenia is right next to me! Note to self: get glasses.
Anyway, I can see Garry Cooper (name's a little familiar?) who pops up once or twice (in the Bill?) and he looks the same.
Philip Davis was in BIRTHS DEATH & MARRIAGES with Ray Winstone.
The black guy with the hat who plays Ferdy the drug supplier - that's Trevor H Laird who was in QUADROPHENIA (mechanic under the car Bob Hoskins kicks the jack away) and in the Jude Law/Ray Winstone film LOVE HONOUR & OBEY (singing Fireball XL5 with Sean Pertwee)
- and yes, who's Gary Shail?
The rest you know! Hope that helps!
hi there
Quadrophenia had quite a distinguished cast, with many of the actors moving on to be household names.
check out the book Chasing the Wind:A Quadrophenia Anthology
to read all about this cult film.
quadmodbook
"I don't wanna be like everybody else, that's why i'm a mod, see?"
I've never noticed this before, but bearing in mind that one of the key stories in the film is the decaying friendship of Phil Daniels and Ray Winstone (Winstone getting more screen time than some of those featured in the posters), Winstone doesn't appear in any of the posters. A conscious decision to keep everything 'mod'...a lone 'Rocker' being out of sync?
I just want to get a plug in for a new Quadrophenia site .... go here.. Quadrophenia - Schizophrenic I'm Bleeding Quadrophenic . You'll find that Jimmy rides south along Gravesend Road and the P.O. van is travelling west along Sawley Road in Wormholt when they collide. Stuff all to do with Hemlock Road or Yew Tree Road as you'll read elsewhere. If you wanna make out under a canal bridge may i suggest the Great Western Road.. Get off at Westbourne Tube Station and head North... It's a 12 month project so please bare with us... we know 90% of locations, just uploading them..... OK one more.... the scrapyard is opposite the Bramley Arms pub.. in the film looking back out of the scrapyard you can see the Bramley Arms window.. Bramley closed in late 1988...early 99..
Quadrophenia - Schizophrenic I'm Bleeding Quadrophenic
There was more than 1 house used as the Cooper residence.. go here.. Quadrophenia - Schizophrenic I'm Bleeding Quadrophenic
This has to be the best film ever!

Can anyone tell me the filming shedule dates for this film please
I would be interested if anyone knew as I want to see this one. I missed it last week when it was on.
Quadrophenia is not on next week (just checked ) Quadrophenia was then followed by The Kids Are Alright Documentary film with The Who and before that (on another night ) Quadrophenia was billed with The Who "Live" in Boston as part of their comeback tour,so hopefully those 3 will be repeated again.
I am sure I heard somewhere that it was late September 1978 that filming started. It might have been mentioned on the Region 2 DVD commentary with Franc Roddam & Phil Daniels.
