name='batman']There's a good piece about NOTE by Smudge in the features section to read after you've seen the film. It really is an excellent film. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

    Just thought I'd mention it

Kevin Macdonald had already won an Oscar for his superb documentary about the Munich Olympics massacre, One Day in September and had also made the mountaineering documentary Touching the Void and some other good ones. But this was his first feature film

I just watched. Not exactly nice, and I am not sure how much of it is true .... but it's a cracking good thriller, well written, performed and produced. The direction was pretty fine too .... the lad did good!

Yes, I meant "nicely made" rather than nice as in pleasant.

It is fiction, but incorporates some elements based on real events. The main fiction is that Amin had a Scottish doctor who then got caught up in those crazy events

name='stevie boy']Tonight I am watching Madness (Sugs and all) in Birmingham. Looking forward to it.

I was in a Madness video once ,Night boat to Cairo ,I think..anyway it was filmed in Leeds 1977 at a barbers called Alexis which is sadly now gone. The nutty boys were unknown then and were just starting out,i was having my head shaved for a bit part in Yanks ,filmed on Ilkley Moor, and it was just all going on.I remember talking to Suggs while he was eating a bacon butty and thinking they won,t go far ,not true, i was very impressed. The back of my head is in the video, being shaved...

TARZAN the APE MAN and the QUEEN, no this is not one movie but two. No Lese Majeste intended. This on tonight's agenda.

Are we allowed to discuss non-UK, non-English language movies? Help.
