Unfortunately not one of his British films, but Max gives a good account of himself in the 1962 comedy-thriller The Notorious Landlady.

Fred Astaire also gives a very good performance as Jack Lemmon's boss. The laughs keep coming as the the two of them do everything in their power to help Novak in her time of need."
