A heartfelt thank you to Bryan for taking the time to answer so many questions - it is much appreciated.
I am going to send a big 'Thank You' to BF. If you have any messages for him, leave them on this thread, and I will copy and paste, and forward them to him in about a fortnight. Please add a printable signature!!
Should you have any questions, with regard his answers, leave them here too. I'm sure he will be only too pleased to clarify any of his answers.

Thank you Brian. Very much appreciated. Best wishes, Dave.
Thank you very much Bryan. Hopefully at some stage in the future we could hear your thoughts as a producer on British filmmaking in general past and present; its successes and failures.
Cheers Bryan, if only for Bunny Warren
keep well Steve
Many thanks indeed Bryan for taking the time and trouble to 'chat' with us. Best wishes to you and all your family

A big "Thank you" for taking the time and trouble to give a very interesting set of answers and other responses to the questions from a bunch of admirers of British films. It was very much appreciated.
All the best to you and the family
Steve
I've sent off for my ticket for the 13th April for the Brian Forbes plaque unveiling at Elstree studios. Anyone else going ??
I'll send a report on the 14th....
Aitch,
A true part of British Film history, and still considerate and concerned. Good luck, sir.

Many thanks for your stalwart contribition to the British Film Industry.
Mark
Nice one, old darling.
An unsung hero no more! I'm always delighted to see Bryan Forbes name attached to any film, it's a form of 'stamp of quality'. I wonder when are we going to see 'The Whisperers' on DVD - a very fine film indeed.
It was very good of Bryan to take the trouble to answer all the questions with his usual frankness and good humour. I wish him many more years of writing!
Geoff
Mr Forbes, Like a black pearl or a rough diamond, I have always considered "The Whisperers" as a hidden or under appreciated jewel in the crown of British filmaking. Now that you might get the recognition you have earned, perhaps a little spotlight might deflect on to this little masterpiece.
PS
I just recently saw Thorold Dickinson's "Queen of Spades" for the first time, A nice primer for Dame Edith no ?

Got my ticket today and might get there a bit early and have a look around Elstree village for a while. Spent many happy years in the village before B.T.
(Bloody Tesco's)

Ahh - Tescos....(spit)...
I remember soon after they threw that heap of bricks together I wandered round the site doing some comparative pictures (I had been there as they finished off the demolition job on the main part of ABPC). As I walked round the back, to look at the area where the big old tank used to be, some weasel faced youth of a security guard came out and tried to admonish me for taking pictures of what was 'private property'. I just glared at him and he soon scuttled back to his rathole...
The so-called 'studios tribute' out front of the store didn't seem to be around for very long - same for the 'honouring Elstree's heritage' info boards which used to be inside the shop.

Tesco seems to be acting true to form here too:

Thanks Alan. Relates to Seaton, an area I know very well - and there's another Tesco close by anyway, at Axminster, famous for chucking out Hugh F-W as he objected to their factory farm chicken!River Cottage and Hugh's new shop are also nearby...
