The first outing for the milk-tray man look in The Most Dangerous Game

Leslie Banks in black slacks and rollneck sweater (film is well worth a look based on a famous novella)

Surely the quintessential knitwear film of all time was The Heroes Of Telemark.

Anybody got a pattern for that sweater?

I'm currently watching Terry Nation's Survivors and Ian McCullough is continually trying to establish a new world order from inside a big thick roll neck pullover.

Nice guest appearance from Brian Blessed who sports one too, although not in the scene where Hubert shoots him in the back of the neck with a crossbow.

Apologies if this has already been covered but Val Doonican was the king of the sweaters in Britain when I was a lad. In the USA the title was evidently held by Perry Como. Did Val ever make a picture ? I'm sure Perry would have had a go !

Perry Como did make a few pics ....
    1. Words and Music (1948) .... Eddie Lorrison Anders/Himself
    2. If I'm Lucky (1946) .... Allen Clark
    3. Doll Face (1946) .... Nicky Ricci

... aka Come Back to Me (UK)
    4. Something for the Boys (1944) .... Sergeant Laddie Green
    .... but, alas, Val didn't.

Perry reminds me more of Acton Man - but without the scar!

He's even got the gripping hands in the first picture!
