I hope the warning gives us at least 5 minutes 39 seconds so we can all watch this first...

Before N. Korea pushes the button , it may be interesting to consider what we may wish to do, with our final 4 minutes..........
I've never seen "The War Game" but have heard lots about it (maybe time to see it if I'm lucky)
I do remember a film called "Threads" filmed in Sheffield I think sometime in the 70's? Caused controversy & scared many people.
"When the Wind Blows" is another yet too see.........
So.......whats it to be for the last 4 minutes ........
At least we won't need to worry about Swine Flu anymore
Cheers

QED - A GUIDE TO ARMAGEDDON (BBC1982) WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND ONE WORTH SEEING AGAIN.:
blowup:
I'd like to release an elastic band from both ends simultaneously thus setting off a chain reaction which should destroy our world and most of the known galaxy before those pesky devils can get their bomb out the launcher.
Ha! That'd show 'em.
Oh yeah and I'd like to finally be able to wee and ********* at the same time. In the bath. Might take more than four minutes. Need to rethink.![]()
Jaysus!
I don't know what would be more destuctive.
The elastic explosion or your "bath time brew"!

I remember seeing those old information films put out by the USA government in the 50's to advise people what to do in case of an atom bomb attack.
They advised schoolchildren to crouch underneath their school desks with the words to remember - "Duck and cover".
Nice to know that the scientific "experts" took the health issues seriously.
Dave.
I think they should show that old programme "Threads" again. Set in Sheffield.
Haven't seen it in years

The other advice was:
Bend over
Put your head between your legs
And kiss your arse goodbye!

For all you doom mongers, North Korea's missiles would not be able to reach Britain. It's also debatable whether they would stay in the air long enough to reach anywhere else, either.
Nobody seems to take any notice of alarms going off so most of us would probably filter out the air raid siren and waste the last four minutes anyway.
On a serious note air raid sirens were tested every year up till the late 60's .Anyone know when councils were allowed to stop testing?
