I remembered dadwasinflame's early contributions to the Forum and couldn't think of anywhere else to post this ...
You really should start a thread in memory of your dad, Nick, as he appeared in so many things. I saw that episode of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) (Murder Ain't What It Used to Be) a few days ago. He had just one line I think. My main reason for returning here, however, is to bring you my latest capture of Patrick.
I've just noticed your earlier post when you told us you'd got his episode of Special Branch, A Copper Called Craven. I scanned through it last week, for the post I did on Gilly McIver earlier today (for 'Bit Part Actresses ...') and spotted your dad there at the end! I recognised him immediately. Despite his very Irish name it was a surprise to see him speaking in that dialect during an angry confrontation with George Sewell (Craven). Even more oddly, I noticed during the end credits that he was billed as Patrick Cowner. I can only think somebody misheard his name during the casting of his role.
I expected to see this unusual credit as '
Special Branch ........ Corrigan (as Patrick
Cowner)', but no - he actually has a separate listing under that name. Have a look:
Although quite a lot of my submissions have been successful I'd prefer to leave it to IMDb expert Steve
Crook to sort this one out. Can he make it appear as I ilustrated it (above the incorrect listing), please?
I enclose two screencaps of Patrick, the first with George Sewell:
"I have just two words to say to you, Craven - Mary O'Hara" (not the harpist I presume!)
A rare close-up here as he reminds Craven of what's happened to the unfortunate woman:
"She's still in a wheelchair - the wheelchair that you put her in!"
Original ITV Transmission: 4th April 1973, when Donny Osmond's inferior version of
Twelth of Never was #1
