With this being the 70 th anniversay of the Battle of Britain, & also 65 Years since End of WW2 Thought it would be an ideal time to vist the Normandy battle fields, know they do Tours but not sure who to contact
Friend of mine went a few years back and really enjoyed it, they also stayed at the Churchill Hotel as well
Anybody else done this trip and how do you get there, i assume its by Ferry, as dont think there is an Airport nearby is there
Any help or suggestions would be most Welcome

Dunno but always fancied visiting there being a keen drinker of Calvados :)

Although my dad was not a Normandy veteran (he was in the Merchant Navy in WWII),he did make
a visit there for the 50th anniversary of the landings. On the coach trip,he met a bloke
who took part in the Pegasus Bridge fight, and it turned out he was at my dad's 21st birthday
party in 1941. They became close friends, but his friend left Hartlepool and lived with his
lady friend in Cromer,Norfolk. My dad paid a couple of visits to Norfolk until his friend
died a few years ago.
In September,my dad will be 90.

I know a few people that have been on Leger Holidays WWI battlefield tours ( the company in the link above )and they have all enjoyed them greatly, you travel by coach from a local to you pick up point and croos by ferry where you rejoin the coach. All the tours are led by a historian who gives valuable insights to the area you're visiting. Must admit am considering doing their Introduction to the Battlefields of WWI tour myself next year.

I only found out last year that my late father was involved in the D-Day landings when an ex-serviceman looked at his 'Certificate of Service':

....and then, as you can see, he was away for 18 months.
I have always found that the very best organisation to ask about this sort of thing is The Royal British Legion - they do an amazing job.
For pilgrimages to battlefields and cemeteries etc., try Poppy Travel

My husband and I hired a car last year to tour along the Normandy coast and visit the D-Day landing beaches. It was a great trip. I was amazed by the show of flowers in every village along the way - no wonder it's called the "flower coast". I wanted to post a few photos so I created an album but the photos wouldn't upload; apparently the files are too big.
It was very sobering to vist the US memorial at Omaha Beach and to walk down the dunes onto the beach itself. I was dismayed to see the beach was littered with all sorts of rubbish, which probably had washed up rather than dropped there, so I collected as much as I could and deposited it all into a bin later on:
