Difficult one there, I'd say it's more City area than West end, the church spires to the right and the post-war built office blocks to the left where it was heavily bombed give me that feeling.
Can anyone identify this shot of London from The Avengers episode Death Of A Great Dane, seen when Steed and Cathy look out of Litoff's bedroom, where they are trapped.

My guess - Shell Mex House and St. Paul's looking down Cannon Street.

I'd say you're right Anthony, a fuzzy Tower Bridge can be ascertained in the background and the large Cannon Street railway station curved canopy is still there before it was demolished.![]()
So that’s what it is. I couldn’t make it into anything.name='Mark O'].....the large Cannon Street railway station curved canopy is still there before it was demolished.![]()
This grab from the closing credits of The Knowledge shows the curved building and its front lawn on the corner of New Change.

There's a nice edwardian pic of the front of the arch and the two towers that still stand today on this link..............

Thanks to Anthony McKay, Mark O and Alan F, for taking the time to look into this one.
So we're agreed then that this is Cannon Street and quite a lot of redevelopment has taken place since the early sixties.
It's a view from the top of St Paul's looking east (and interesting place for Litoff to have an office - the building right foreground is Bracken House, then the Financial Times HQ and since remodelled but still there.
Thanks ghughesarch
I've already had a PM indicating that the shot was taken from St Paul's, so it's great to have that info from a second source.
I've just noticed that this is virtually the same shot as the first real location in DOCTOR WHO - when the TARDIS first takes off in An Unearthly Child this is the image which appears in the scanner.
