    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know where the railway station in the 1969 Wednesday Play LAST TRAIN THROUGH HARECASTLE TUNNEL was?
It's only on screen for five mins and must be a London station, possibaly an elevated one.
I was thinking of Limehouse on the London,Tilbury and Southend.
As scene was shot at night, all I can say is that it looks like part of the platform is of wooden construction.
Many thanks in advance if anyone out there can throw some light on this mystery location.

A picture would help, if at all possible.
Why do you say "possibly an elevated one"?

If you're heading up towards Staffordshire then you'd more likely leave from Euston. But Euston has been rebuilt a few times over the years and nowadays it doesn't look much like it did in the 1960s

I chance of a pic steed?............I'd recognise Limehouse station, for many years it was very delapidated and had creaking curved wooden platforms when it was known as 'Stepney East', not any more of course, all tarted up.

Link to some 'then and now' pics of Stepney East/Limehouse station..........

What a fantastic thoroughly British television play this was, its absence as a DVD release is totally inexplicable and sadly missed. I am sorry I do not know where the location filming took place, I always imagined it was actually at Kidsgrove which at the time had two stations, one on the main line (the tunnel line) and one on the loop - in between closure and demolition? There would have been capacity to accomodate location filming I would have thought. The passengers all board a brake van hauled off into the night by diesel shunting locomotive, singing 'For she's a jolly good tunnel' as the train trundles away.
