Fascinating stuff - thanks very much for your efforts in capturing all that detail and doing some great 'now' comparative shots. As you say, a lot has changed, but there's still a fair bit that is quite easily recognisable. Excellent work!

If anybody brought the recent Network DVD and is interested, I've been out and about with my camera the last month taking a couple of shots a day and here is the results. Please bear in mind, some now shots not been taken yet but they will be over the next few weeks along with full decriptions. After the title page there's 3 more pages. Only locations part 3 is complete with all photos in place. Hope you enjoy

I agree, many thanks
All done now apart from one shot that I can't take due to current heavy roadworks spoiling the picture. Thats pretty much all I can do now apart from search for the locations that I can't identify as yet. A lot of hard work, true labour of love has gone into these so would appreciate it if you had a quick look, thanks. If you go to the Locations title page you also get to see three photos taken in 1973 during shooting. The last one being confirmed as the episode "Skeletons" which was marked as until recently as not lost, thing is when played it turned out to be a dupilcate of one of the episodes already in existance. I'm hoping on more episodes being found but not holding much hope, fingers crossed though, you never know :)
Been looking at your website Jim and praise you for all your time, effort and dedication you've put in to keeping the memory of this classic police series alive, just makes you wonder had VHS video recorders been available to the public 5 years earlier then maybe, just maybe someone would probably have recorded the whole 3 series or if ATV had repeated them in the early eighties then at least we would have had a glimmer of hope at seeing the whole series again, i remember playing on the street with some friends when i was just twelve or thirteen and saying to them "I'll have to be in the house in ten minutes, Hunters Walk is coming on", i firmly believe if you continue with your research that one day you'll be rewarded even more, i'm sure all the other kind people who have took part in this thread share your wishes to see the whole series again, it was nice to see a young, attractive Ruth Madoc playing Sergeant Smith's wife, Betty, she looks nothing like the character she later went on to play in the Hi-De-Hi comedy series.
Take care
Nigel.
Great stuff and re the above I had never realised what an attractive girl Ruth is until I saw her interviewed
