Does anybody know where the exterior scenes (the house, the shopping parade, etc) of Terry and June were filmed? (I know it's supposed to be Purley, but presumably it isn't.....)

Can't help with that but as a Sarf London gal I was ridiculously excited at the opening sequence in the Whitgift Centre

Try Church Road, Purley. Not the Church Road in Croydon that leads up to Crystal Palace but the smaller Church Road on the borders of Purley, Wallington & Woodcote. It runs between Great Woodcote Park (a road, not a park) and Peaks Hill. Look for post code CR8 3QQ

One ad-hoc scene in one of their episodes showed an L-shaped house someone goes to. This was the vicarage to All Saints church near the southwest corner of Ealing Common, London, W5 on Elm Grove Rd near its' junction with Warwick Dene [road].
