I've spent a lot of time this week tracking down locations in Paris from the 1966 episode of THE SAINT: To Kill a Saint.

I've got them all but one and I have spent a lot of time looking. Can someone please help me out of my misery and find this. A fresh pair of eyes is always useful as I've found that all the locations traced so far have obvious clues on screen that just need to be noticed and followed up.

    Clues I have so far:

This is filmed on a street containing four shops including; a cordonnerie (shoemakers), serrurerie (locksmiths) and a charcuterie (pork butcher). So we are not talking a high income street.

The street has a junction with a boulevard (it has some trees running down it) that is on a bus route.

There is a large appartment block on the oposite junction with a red awning which might have "MEDOC" written on it. The building is also of an atypical modernist style.

Other locations filmed at the same time:

    Avenue Marceau
    Boulevard des Capucines
    Place De Concorde
    Pont des Invalides
    Rue George V

and the more down market (and seen just before the missing location) Maubert-Mutualite (junction of Bouleverd Saint Germain and Rue Lagrange)

Here are some high resolution photos of the missing location.

Not sure if the Cordonnerie might read 'Garnier' as well, meaning it might be near the opera house of the same name?

I've already had a sniff around the Opera due to the footage already filmed there and nothing fits. Last night I also found some unused footage from the shoot on the World backgrounds site - a p.o.v. shot from inside a car from the Opera and along Boulevard des Capucines. This matches up with the footage used approaching Pont de la Concorde seen in the episode.

I suspect that other sequences of Paris on the WB site also come from this shoot.

I'm suprised that they managed to get about so much as most of the footage seems to have been shot late on a November day. The Maubert-Mutualite sequence was shot very late, 4:00pm.

Another clue by the way - the sun is in the South so the street must be running a little off north/south.

Not many Medocs in Paris, but there are a cluster just by the Folies Bergère - don't know why. Narrow streets and nothing matches. Given the size of Paris it is odd that 'Medoc' is so uncommon. There is just one 'Medoc' in the white pages.

On the positive side, this is within easy walking distance of Boulevard des Capucines and some of the wider side streets round here leading onto the main boulevards look the part.

I've buggered about with this photo to give some impression of the next block - this should be quite distinctive.
