There's a lot of dignity in that, isn't there? Going out like a raspberry ripple.

I've been to quite a few of them and survived. Maybe it should be renamed "The Killing Fields"

This turned out to be a very interesting programme including contributions from the producer, Brian True-May.

The series has now been sold to over 200 countries

Those who watched, did you see the Hovis ad and what did you think of it? I detest breaks in any programme but that lad clutching his bread running through the street scenes that slowly advanced in time was a masterpiece.

An excellent doc I thought and hopefully my family and myself hope to be home around Xmas time and may just decide to do a tour around the areas mentioned, not too far from London and maybe bump into a few local members of the forum.

Hope there's a little snow as my good lady is longing to see snow.

Two locations that are pretty close to each other are The Lee and Little Missenden (Badgers Drift). The Mrs Bradley Mystery - The Rising of the Moon episode - was also shot in Little Missenden. And the church St John the Baptist features in Carve her Name with Pride. Nearby Old Amersham was a location for Murder at the Gallop and Shardeloes, a large country house visible from the A413, was used in The Shooting Party and an episode of Jason King.

I've spotted quite a lot of locations in Oxfordshire where I live: Dorchester has been used several times - once in the episode with George Baker playing twins and again in a more recent episode centred around events during WWII on an airbase.

For my job I visit a lot of people in their homes. One customer who lives in Dorchester said "my house is right next to the George". I drove up and down the high street but no George. Eventually I found the house and asked the customer what was going on. "Oh, sorry. I forgot. They're filming Midsomer Murders. The pub's called the Feathers at the Moment"!

Wallingford market square is used a lot as Causton - a building with collonades on it was Causton Theatre, probably in the episode where actor cut his throat on stage by mistake.

Thame gets used quite a bit, and there was an episode where the pub in Islip was used - a man was found in the river after being pushed off the bridge next to the pub late at night.

The other year I happend to see some "MM LOC" orange signs so I followed them from the Thame bypass to Nether Winchendon. Sure enough they had their unit base in a farmyard there, but I never saw an episode that seemed to have been filmed there. IMDB refers to an episode that was abandoned because the storyline turned out to be too similar to some tragic real-life event, though there's no reference to what that event was. Maybe this was filming for the abandoned episode.

We used to live in Dorchester and often spot the George, in fact it's used near the beginning of Howards End (the house used for Howards End is on Peppard Common) where the vehicle pulls up outside.

Yes Dorchester (the George and the post office opposite) crops up all over the place. I'm surprised that the photogenic shop in Clifton Hampden never seems to be used: I can just imagine in a World War II film - no doubt it would have been used in Foyle's War if that had been filmed round here.
