Hi Tony -
It's St.Columba's, behind Harrods.
Does anyone recognise this strange London church featured in 'The Saint'.

Hi Tony -
It's St.Columba's, behind Harrods.
That shot was taken from the corner of Sloane Street and Pont Street.Walk dowm Sloane Street from Knightsbridge and turn right into Pont Street and that view of the church is in front of you.![]()
Thanks guys - this matches up with the four letter street name I had already.
Glad to find another Saint fan on here. I've been up London today trying to find a road that was used in an episode called The Desperate Diplomat. It is after the title sequence and shows the Volvo P1800 driving down a street with the Post Office Tower in the background. I thought it was Charlotte Street but now I've just watched the film again I'm wrong. Got to go back there now with a still frame from the DVD to try and locate the position the camera was in when they filmed it in 1968.
I live close to Charlotte Street, have PMd you
Gazza I got your message but the admin have blocked me from seeing it because I haven't made enough posts. How sad it is that theses admin have such power! By the way that film Entertaining Mr Sloane was brilliant. I haven't seen it for over 20 years. Peter McEnery!
It's just that I may be able to help because I live nearby - can you post the still shot?
PS: the film is indeed brill but there's also a new stage version opening in London with Imelda Staunton.
Yes I will do that if I can work out how to post a still on here. Bear with me I'm scoffing my dinner at the moment and she's left me with a load of washing up but I'll be back later I promise.
Here's the URL http://www.atvlondon.net/saint.jpg hope they allow this as I don't know how to post an image on this thread.
It's Conway Street, with Warren Street being the road visible to the left of your shot.![]()
By jove I think you've got it old chap. How did you know that? I just looked at a satellite view on google maps and it does tally up nicely. I will go back. There is another shot as the car passes the camera where Simon Templar turns left into what I now know is Euston Road, but the building that is there now definitely wasn't there in 1968
I'm thinking I used to work there in the late 60s, is there an Overseas League buliding on the right hand side?

Just to let you know I went back today and photographed it from the same spot, I think.
And here's the original. Sorry I've taken this thread off topic.
