The room is not so ornate as it used be.............
I've wondered if the internal studio sets ever took any inspiration from the actual places. The upper hallway landing in The Paper Chase looked very wrong for that building but this room looks much more likely. I couldn't get a screenblob of the third wall, where the windows would be, but the set does seem to suggest big windows behind Joan Greenwood when you glimpse long, drawn curtains in some shots.
When I made this Post:

I was wondering to what degree the studio internals might have resembled the reality. Clearly there would be no necessity for this but presuambly the set designers would have preferred to just copy something rather than having to dream up the whole design themselves.

Sometimes there's no relationship between the internal and external appearance at all - in one half hour Danger Man episode (I think it was The Key), establishing footage of a modern hotel exterior cuts to a shabby run down late 19th/early 20th century interior !
This is fantastic - Many thanks for finding this Greg!
I'll try and get over there in the spring to see if I can get more shots for my website.
Now we've cracked that, how about this old chesnut: http://www.britmovie.co.uk/forums/tv...ohn-drake.html
