Filmstalker: Wild Geese remake gains Director

Found about this a while back. I hope that if they are going to remake/destroy this classic, they get a decent cast.

Any thoughts....?

Due for release in 2010 I hear.

The director attached only seems to have made commercials (although Ridley Scott was in a similar position before The Duellists!).

If it happens I'll be amazed if it doesn't feature the likes of Jason Statham, Danny Dyer, Vinnie Jones and the like... and go straight to DVD.

If it did feature Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Ray Winstone it might be worth watching.

I love Roger Moore's bit of serious acting near the start of this film, when he confronts a druggy. Very good.

I can't believe that article calls Sean Bean "talent". For reference, see "Outlaw" and "When Saturday Comes".

3 hours of my life that I cannot hope to get back.

Contrary to popular opinion, ol' Rog can cut the mustard in the acting stakes when he has to. You don't sustain a career lasting nearly 60yrs (including carrying Bond through the 70s and 80s and making one of the most popular TV series ever) by having no acting talent. The 'looks only' boys soon get found out.

Jingle bells Batman smells ... I heard that at school Daddy.

He's brilliantly entertaining, and that's all that matters. How many of today's actors are consistently watchable? Not many. He's brilliant in THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF.

He's going to write his autobiography, soon, so that'll be great!

God I remake??? Sean Bean??? No way, he is fine in the right role, but to play people like Janders, Finn and Faulkner you need people who really draw you in. I don't see it with him. The director is the same guy who did the Halo 3 trailer with all the wargame minatures in it, if you've been to the cinema recently you will have seen it.

yes and jim macdonald could play his dad, instead of richard harris. imagine if hollywood made a remake a few years ago! it could have been macauley culkin, and ice cube instead of roger moore and The Rock as the white south african who is scepticle of blacks. im sure denzil washington or chris rock would have been perfect in the role of the freed black man who changes the Afrikaaners views

Chris Rock????

Morgan Freeman more like, as long as he isn't busy driving a female 'guest' somewhere, still he can do his own stunts.
