If I try to think about, I can find thousands of reasons why I like this movie, but only one , it's just beautiful .

It certainly is ... it was filmed in the county where I live!

Arguably JL's last great film and Pinter on top form on the screenplay. One BF's triumphs during his brief period in management.

Arguably JL's last great film.

The Romantic Englishwoman and Mr Klein. My two fave Losey's.

The Go-Between is quite lovely too.

With Losey I also do like very much Secret Ceremony(wich I can't find in zone 2..), Boom, The Criminal, The Servant and Accident; but I didn't see -The Romantic....,just heard about...Mr Klein in fact is just too paranoïd for me.

Hey, someone else who likes Losey's "Mr Klein"! It's a film that doesn't get mentioned much in relation to Losey, can't think why, I think it is a very good film and Delon is very good in it.

I've just watched this again, it does capture the beauty of a hot summer in the English Countryside. The tone of the film is not a happy one though.

I agree, you feel the summer in this film, and the distress of the young messenger, how he is "used" by adults and upperclass fellows......

And the love story betwen A.Bates and J.Christie is a great one, it seems H.Pinter and J.Losey had red D.H Lawrence....
Also M.Cough is a great actor.....

I have always been a fan of Julie Christy and Alan Bates , I love the Eduardian Scene and I suppose in the film there was the direction of Joseph Losey and Harold Pinter. I woud like to know more about the film to be able to say something less stupid
