like quadrophenia it was made by the who films and like quad they dont get the background details right ,modern cars ,people in late 70s fashions etc .although to be fair they were both lowish budget films and id rather see a mk 3 cortina or intercity 125 than dodgy acting , lacklustre script or dialogue , bad editing or whatever ,i dont think either film would have stood the test of time otherwise

Must confess, I've never seen this as I've always been put off by the casting of Daltrey. I'm also aware that for a long time he had wanted to make a Kray Bros. film and then eventually "saw the light" on the nature of the Kray's enterprises and looked elsewhere. My lack of confidence in Daltrey as an actor, is in no way meant to belittle the one time Shepherds Bush sheet metal worker's ability to sing Peter Townshend songs, twirl a microphone or land a punch. I just could never see the inner thespian ?
