Never tire of seeing this film - even if it's hardly ever shown on TV! Always hope that Farmer Boldwood (Peter Finch) will 'get the girl' but it never happens!

I want to get my hands on the Julie Christie version! Anyone know if it will be re-released?

Don't think it's been officially re-released as a DVD. However I got my free DVD copy of this as a promo with the Daily Mail and they do still come up on Ebay quite cheaply (its not been remastered though!)

There's a Region 1 DVD on sale thru Amazon USA, so apparently it's been released at some point.

If this is the poorly- or un-remastered version, maybe that's the one they're selling on EBay's.

If there is one British film of the sixties that deserves a full bells-and-whistles restoration with loads of extra interviews, etc, while the protagonists are still with us, its this...

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

It was re-released last week.

Only as part of this Julie Christie box set so far but it may be released individually.

Optimum Releasing: Julie Christie Collection - Screen Icons

Sadly, it says it's only 129 minutes long and 4:3 but the ratio could easily be a mistake. Optimum have done this before. Was The Go-Between really full screen?

On Amazon.co.uk it claims the box set runs for 489 minutes, which would be 71 minutes longer than the Optimum stated times. I also chcked with the BBFC site and see that Optimum submitted a 158 minute version which means their own website provides information that would discourage you from buying it.

Julie Christie is sooooo beautiful in this film and Alan Bates is just perfect!

The best 'swinging sixties' costume drama?
