Very difficult to pick but at this moment and in no particular order....

Alien
Kes
The Italian Job
28 Days Later
Touching the Void
Educating Rita
The Shining
Truly Madly Deeply
An American Werewolf In London
Withnail and I

I'd really ahve loved to fit The Company of Wolves in there but there's just not enough room.

If "Fluff" Freeman was still around he'd announce these in reverse order....

10..... "Walkabout"......

9...."To the Devil a Daughter"......

8...."Dr Strangelove"...

7..... "Fahrenheit 451"....

6. ...."The Third Man".....

5......"Yellow Submarine"...

4....."The Family Way"

3. ...."Gandhi"......

2....."10 Rillington Place"

1....."The Elephant Man"....

Cheers

Good to see people have films that I have liked to put in to, for instance on any other day Alien would have definitely been in their too. Interesting that so many of us have Dr Strangelove and it doesn't even make it into the BFI's top 100. But of course we are talking about a list that has The Full Monty at 25!

Yep. Also "A Fish Called Wanda" at #39. "Shakespeare In Love" at #49. lol

Hard for me to pick a definitive 10, but here's a few I love:

"Get Carter"
"Walkabout"
"Secrets & Lies"
"Dr. Strangelove"
"A Matter of Life and Death"
"On Her Majesty's Secret Service"
"The Third Man"

Even "The Elephant Man" doesn't get into the top 100 either....

After a good think I came up with this lot.

The Dark Man
Pool of London
Hell is a City
Brighton Rock
Jigsaw
The Blue Lamp
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The Ipcress File
Get Carter
Blackout

Tomorrow the list might be different, because with so many great films to choose from a definitive list is almost impossible.

Off the top of my head:

The Green Man
My Learned Friend
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning
Daybreak
It Always Rains on Sunday
The Ladykillers
Genevieve
Green for Danger
The 39 Steps (Hitchcock)
The Lady Vanishes (Hitchcock)

and a bonus (because I'm not sure if it's a strictly British film)

The Thief of Bagdad (Korda)
