Here too! I love her!

I was sorry she was killed off, as she was the best character in it! (I must do some fanfic on this…)

The novel was actually loosely based on a 19C romantic legend that developed around Markyate Cell, when a hidden room was found. This was linked to the premature death of Catherine Ferrers, wife of one of the Fanshawes, in the 1660s, although there is no 17C evidence to support the story.

I was referring to Blickling Hall, where the exteriors of the film were shot.

Jingle bells Batman smells ... I heard that at school Daddy.

silverwhistle - of course she was the best character! And the ending is pretty much there for the sake of it, it's almost a parody of a 'happy ending'.

Seeing this film at the BFI in January was a fantastic experience. The audience were laughing every few minutes!

Assuming you mean the pub off Leicester Square where Galton and Simpson used to hang out, alas, this closed recently. Most annoying as it was very handy for the London Film Festival.

It......CLOSED????

Oh, dear God......NO!

I spent many a happy hour upstairs at the Hand and Racquet, blissfully sitting among the Galton and Simpson memorabillia, looking down on Orange Street. I took many people there because I loved it so much!
