We used to practice (in the Commando Regiment I was in) using Brens with the yellow paint on the barrel to signify that that particular barrel was partly closed off to allow for wooden "blanks" to simulate the gas "automatic" effect of the Brens and demonstrate the adjustable feature of the gas feedback rapid fire mechanism.

I had nightmares for VERY many years about using the "yellow" barrel with live ammo and not noticing that the wrong barrel was attached ...

No..... incorrect.....it was Britain that won The Battle of Britain ( thats why its called The Battle of Britain funnily enough) and it was England that lost the rugby cup final...........

I heard they were hard done by a disalowed goal or touch down or whatever you call it! I know nothing about rugby, I didn't even know England were in the final until I saw it plastered all over the front pages of the tabloids! didn't England win the last one? I seem to remember some rejoicing a few years ago over some rugby match......

As a young lad living in Hemel Hempstead I remember watching the dogfights for B.O.B whilst at the Churchill outdoor swimming baths. Among all the planes flying around there was a great big bomber type in the middle with a huge orange stripe all around it. I was told this was the camera plane and as far as I can remember they were all based at Bovingdon near Hemel and sad to say that Bovingdon is now an H.M.P Prison.

Agree with you Sam. 633 Squadron has a great theme and it's funny how many soccer clubs use this as their teams run out to play, I know it was used at Hayes FC, now called Hayes and Yeading. Does anyone know of any other clubs use 633 or any other British film movie theme as it they run out. Curious to know.

I hear my beloved Spurs are running out to "The Great Escape". hehe. Thought I would get it in before someone else did.

Hi Earl,
It is more than likely that Skeets Kelly was in that aircraft, the legendary aerial photographer. I also believe they used two seater Spitfires for the battle scenes. He was killed in 1970 whilst doing aerial photography for Zeppelin.

Thank you, git, hehe. We will survive. Just go and win the Champions League and leave us to get on with the business of survival. Ramos doesn't even speak English. Hope he knows one end of the ground from the other come half time.

We will survive, hopefully.
