Wife watched it again, then as much as she could on the 'hour later' channel. It is amazing that the scenes were shot without any indication that there had just been a war, and that there were no restrictions...rationing particularly. Petrol certainly was not freely available!

Strange that! It was shown here in Australia just the other day on Pay TV.



Good to see again, although the film seems to have an American feel to me - even though it has a good British cast and the location shooting was around the Denham area.

At one point, there is a scene with an RAC patrolman directing traffic! Was this really something they did? Was it just during the War and immediately after, when coppers were a bit scarce? When did it stop?

Absolutely. Or if he were not available, then Hugh Wakefield who played Dr. Bradman - someone middle aged and solid, not wily and smooth.
