Plot Synopsis

Classic British comedy about an accident-prone grocer, Norman Puckle (Norman Wisdom), on the rebound from a failed love he attempts to commit suicide, but is rescued and persuaded to enlist in the Navy. Despite bungling most of his work there, when the admiral wants a volunteer for a space mission, he decides that Norman is the man for the job. Doubts arise as to whether the right person has been chosen, but surely the whims of admirals and officers will not be enough to deny Norman his moment of glory?
