This lively mixture of action and comedy proved to be hugely popular with audiences and was George Formby’s first major studio success for Associated Talking Pictures. Monty Banks directs with a good sense of comic timing and maintains a ideal balance between humour and action. No Limit was filmed at the 1935 Isle of Man TT races.

George Shuttleworth (George Formby), a chimney sweep's assistant, dreams of winning the Isle Of Man TT Races. Determined to fulfil his fantasy, George spends all his time preparing a battered old motorcycle in his back garden to compete in the races. With the help of his mother, George “borrows” enough money for the ferry ticket and entrance fee to race in the TT. During the time trials George’s brakes fail and he breaks the lap record but his flirt with disaster gives him second thoughts about competing. Impressed by George’s trial run, a rival team offer him £50 not to compete and destroy his motorcycle – George accepts. George’s girlfriend Florrie (Florence Desmond) manages to acquire him a brand new Rainbow bike from her racing- team boss and George is once again in the race. On the big day, the rival team riders decide to scupper George’s bid for success with a series of on-track dirty tricks.
