Plot Synopsis

Lifeless satire on the British legal system from the team behind the celebrated series of Doctor comedies; sadly there’s little onscreen chemistry between supposed star-crossed lovers Michael Craig and Mary Peach.

Two newly qualified barristers from the same chambers - Tony Stevens (Michael Craig) and Frances Pilbright (Mary Peach) are hired to represent the opposing sides in a bizarre marital case. Gladys Pudney (Brenda De Banzie) wants to have the restitution of her conjugal rights with husband Sidney Pudney (Ron Moody), who denies they were ever married. The courtroom bickering between the two barristers nearly gets them disbarred until kindly Judge Haddon (James Robertson Justice) manages to bring them together professionally and personally.
