Plot Synopsis

Stirring Irish saga based on the epic novel by Daphne du Maurier about the bitter feud between two Irish families. Set in 1840 and spanning three generations of the Broderick Family. High-spirited Fanny Rose (Margaret Lockwood) toys with the affections of two brothers, Henry (Michael Denison) and Greyhound John Brodwick (Dennis Price). There's also animosity from the villagers towards businessman Copper John Brodrick (Cecil Parker) who's taken over their land to open his mine. Broderick's bitter feud with the Donovan family over land and the mining of it leads to a feud which is destined to bring death and destruction to Hungry Hill.
