Plot SynopsisBased on a story by Doctor Who writer Robert Holmes, his is an intriguing and atmospheric British sci-fi thriller that conjures up an air of almost tangible alien malevolence. Invasion begins with an ominous failure in a military radar system – followed by a road accident in which a man is struck by a car driving through an unusual fog. The victim is taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital; on his trail are pair of females who prove to be aliens retrieving an escaped extraterrestrial prisoner. Docs Edward Judd and Valerie Gearan are on duty at the hospital where he's being treated, after as the phones go dead, the temperature rises and there's no way out through the invisible force field surrounding the hospital. The female aliens claim that they are extraterrestrial police in search of an escaped male criminal - the male alien's claim that he is a dissident on the run from what presumably is a female-dominated society. Edward Judd and Valerie Gearon discover their patient is in fact an extraterrestrial, Judd decides to protect his patient from the invaders because they have already killed some of the locals, and manages to save himself and his patient. |
