Plot Synopsis

The third Confessions movie is considered by some fans to be the best of the bunch, even comparing favourably with the latter Carry Ons. Staying true to the tried and tested formula, it once again follows the sexual misadventures of Timothy Lea as parades of frustrated women are involved in clumsy soft-core gropings with the unlikely Casanova. Robin Askwith and Cherie Blair’s father, Tony Booth, return to replicate their original roles, and are joined by the wife of producer Greg Smith, Lynda Bellingham, who would gain fame in the 80s as TV's Oxo gravy mum. The one surprise recruit is Liz Fraser, a well-known comedy actress and regular of the early Carry On films, here she is called upon to display more flesh than one would expect from such an established actress. Driving Instructor excels with a clutch of marvellous character actors in lesser roles; Irene Handl is unforgettable as the marvellously named Miss Slenderparts, Bill Maynard returns as Timmy's uncouth flat-capped father, and Doris Hare as his clucking wife.

Never ones to be easily disheartened, budding entrepreneurs Timmy (Robin Askwith) and his crafty brother-in-law Sid (Tony Booth), try their hand at driving instruction. Taking over a dilapidated driving school, they rename it the 'Noglea School of Motoring',b offering Timmy and Sid the perfect opportunity to live life in the fornicating fast lane with a bulging client book of women determined to lose more than just their 'L' plates. Noglea driving school also comes into direct competition with next-door neighbours Truscott driving school, run by sporran-swinging Scotsman Mr. Truscott (Windsor Davies) and his toadying lackey Tony Bender (George Layton).

Timmy’s first student is the slinky, crimson-lipped Miss Hargreaves (Suzy Mandel), who can't keep her hands off Timmy and takes him for an unscheduled stop on a building site. With Sid and Rosie living over the driving school business, Timmy decides to make the break from the family home too and takes up lodgings with lusty landlady Mrs Chalmers (Liz Fraser). Mrs C dotes on her new guest but secretly yearns to give him more than just a signature in his rent book, but Timmy is already preoccupied lusting after her attractive daughter Avril (Maxine Casson).

The next client for Timmy proves more of a challenge, Miss Slenderparts (Irene Handl), an elderly one-woman disaster area who's failed her driving test an incredible 43 times, and duly causes havoc by driving along the motorway in the wrong direction. Next is unsatisfied wife and golf widow Mrs Dent (Sally Faulkner), who puts the bunkers at the local golf course to better use. Meanwhile, Timmy is attempting to woo the daughter of fearsome Truscott, the jolly hockey-sticks posh-speaking Mary (Lynda Bellingham), but their amorous adventures end up with a car in the parks local lake and splashed all over the local newspapers. Finally, Upper-class student Lady Snodley (Chrissy Iddon) fancies herself as an artist, and persuades Timmy to pose nude for her – with calamitous results.
