Plot Synopsis

Third of four versions of Stanley Houghton’s enduring tale of life in a small Lancashire mill town. Chiefly concerning the independently minded Fanny Hawthorne (Belle Chrystal), who has a brief fling with the son (John Stuart) of her father’s employer during a romantic weekend. But when he proposes, she refuses to marry him.
