Plot Synopsis

Slick Aldwych farce dealing with a supposed adulterous liaison. Leaving to join his wife at a party in the country, Peter (Ralph Lynn) misses his train due to chatting old girlfriend, Marguerite (Yvonne Arnaud), who is bound for the same party. The two go on by car but are forced by circumstances to spend a night together at an inn – which inevitably only has one spare room. Pursued by his wife’s parents, and caught in a series of compromising situations – Peter clears up the situation with difficulty. Remade as Fast and Loose (1955).
