Plot SynopsisAldwych farce involving intrigue and blackmail. Sir Donald Rowley (Tom Walls) has rented a lovely country cottage in Sussex, where he hopes to indulge in his favourite passion, fishing. All goes according to plan until a local man, Rivers (Hubert Harben), appears and informs him that he is in fact poaching. Not surprisingly, Sir Donald takes exception to this and a feud arises between the two. However, Rivers has a stepdaughter (Lesley Wareing) who becomes the focus of Sir Donald’s tactless nephew, Sidney (Ralph Lynn), amorous attentions. This sends Rivers more livid than ever, but all ends well when Sidney comes to the rescue of River’s niece (Veronica Rose), who is being blackmailed by a scoundrel (Herbert Lomas). |
