Plot SynopsisAmiable ghost comedy reminiscent of the Alwych farces with an ageing cast including Gordon Harker, Alfred Drayton and Robertson Hare. Mr Spenser (Garry Marsh), a professor from the College for Psychical Research hears of a rampant poltergeist haunting the residents of ancestral home Hilton Grange. He pays a visit to the proprietor of the haunted mansion, Wilfred Prescott (Alfred Drayton), but is dismissed as a crank and sent from the premises. Also visiting the Prescott family home are Empire insurance investigator Joe Harris (Gordon Harker) and industrialist Vincent Ebury (Robertson Hare). Soon the psychic investigator returns and identifies the malign spirit is residing in the body of Prescott’s youngest daughter Audrey (Gwynneth Vaughan). Spenser, Harris and Prescott settle in for a midnight exorcism but the evening’s events don’t go entirely to plan. |
