Plot SynopsisContrived and complicated 'B' thriller based on the novel by Victor MacClure and set in a British film studio to no doubt save on budget at Julius Hagen’s Twickenham Studios. Set in London’s East End, American gangster Cayley Morden (Henry Kendall) poses as Titan Studios tyrannical film director to commit crimes using a doppelganger, alcoholic Charlie Marsh. But when but when Inspector Burford (Garry Marsh) starts closing in on him, Morden prepares an advance alibi with his moll Laura Cane (Eve Gray) and murders his double. Morden arranges it so that suspicion falls on Lady Blanche, an ex-lover and member of the aristocracy he is attempting to blackmail with incriminating love letters. But when his moll is found strangled, Inspector Burford gives Morden the option of being convicted of the murder of Cane or Marsh. |
